Mary Ann (Amy's mother) is here, but I'm a dumbass and left the spare camera battery plugged into the wall at home, so bless her heart, she's gone to get it.

Just as I was hoping, all the brave talk about "trying to go it natural" was about what I was expecting. I'm sure she had the best intentions of giving it her all, but when approached with the option of an epidural, she was good to go for that. Epidural completed at 9:26 AM.

Contractions are only a few minutes apart now, and MUCH MUCH bigger than the ones off the monitor at the doctors office. These are the real deal.

Amy's being a trooper. A little fussy (much less so than I had anticipated) but that's to be expected.

And she's as beautiful as I've ever seen her.
